Under Observation is a work-in-progress performance that examines care as a condition of sustained attention, responsibility, and vulnerability. Emerging from my simultaneous experiences of caring for my mother following major brain surgery and being cared for through pregnancy, the work considers the shifting relationship between caregiver and cared-for.
 

Through durational scores, repetition, observation, and bodily tasks, the work traces the often invisible labour embedded within acts of care: waiting, watching, anticipating, supporting, and enduring. Rather than presenting care as purely nurturing, Under Observation considers its contradictions—tenderness alongside exhaustion, intimacy alongside surveillance, and the constant negotiation between another person’s needs and one’s own body.
 

The work remains deliberately in process, reflecting care itself as an unstable and continually changing condition.
